About Me

Welcome! My name is Jennifer Miller.

I am a costume interpreter, designer, draper, cutter and tailor.

I started sewing when I was 8 years old and haven’t looked back! In the past 15 years, I’ve been honing my skills and love for costuming. In 2018 I graduated from the Arts University of Bournemouth in Poole, England with a Bachelor’s of Arts (Honors) in Costume and Performance Design. My concentration is in costume interpretation. The course was recognized in 2017 as a center of excellence by the Queens Anniversary Prize. The university was awarded the Gold standard rating by the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

After graduation I started the professional apprentice program at Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for their 2018 - 2019 season. I worked as a costume apprentice on their five main-stage performances, five studio performances, five children's musicals, and two education outreach shows. For the main-stage and studio performances I was a stitcher / first-hand while also being wardrobe crew and a designer for the children's musicals and outreach shows.

My current endeavor is the Alterations Manager at David's Bridal in Paducah, Kentucky. I work closely with my team to produce high end alterations for wedding gowns. This role has allowed me the freedom to work in an industry I love! Each alteration is unique to the individual; my job allows me to create the perfect gown for each bride. The creativity is never ending!

In my free time I create sewing projects for myself. Sewing is more than just a job to me, it’s a difficult craft that I enjoy doing. I’m always trying to learn a new skill or attempt a new design to challenge myself. I also love to read, bake, paint, and explore the world around me.

I hope you enjoy my site and feel free to get in touch with me!
